Terms of use

1. What hot sia! is

hot sia! gives a forecast of night heat risk for HDB blocks in Singapore and general advice on what to do. It is made by a small team for the DAISI Challenge Singapore 2026. By using the app or this site, you agree to these terms.

2. Not medical advice

hot sia! gives heat information, not medical advice. It does not replace a doctor, a care plan or official advice from Singapore government agencies. No alert does not mean safe. If someone feels unwell, call 995.

3. Forecasts can be wrong

Forecasts are estimates and can be wrong or late. Test versions show sample data that is not a forecast, and they say so on screen. Use your own judgement and check on people who may be at risk, whatever the app shows.

4. Use of the service

  • The app and site are free. We may change, pause or stop them at any time, for example after the challenge ends.
  • Do not try to break, overload or misuse the app, the site or the public data feed.
  • Staff features are only for people their organisation has invited.

5. Data and other services

hot sia! uses public data from data.gov.sg and SingStat under the Singapore Open Data Licence. Some features use Google services (Maps, Firebase Cloud Messaging), which have their own terms. How we handle information is in the privacy policy.

6. No warranty

The app and site are provided "as is", without any warranty that they are accurate, complete, available or fit for a particular purpose.

7. Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, the hot sia! team is not liable for any loss or harm that comes from using, or not being able to use, the app, the site or the forecasts. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

8. Changes

We may update these terms. The date at the top shows the latest version. If you keep using hot sia! after a change, you accept the new terms.

9. Law

These terms are governed by the laws of Singapore.
